2015 - 2016 Indoor Track and Field

We are currently in the middle of preseason training for the club athletes. We will be competing at JDL Indoor Track facility, located in Winston Salem. All meets are for high school only, except for JDL All Comers.

New Balance Indoor Nationals in New York

Anna's Summer 2015

After a successful Junior year of breaking all the North Carolina hurdles records from the 55m hurdles to the 400m hurdles, Anna continued on her successful journey by placing 3rd in both the 100m hurdles and the 400m hurdles at New Balance Nationals. The journey onto the Jr. Pan American games was in full swing as she went on to win the USA Junior Championships in the 400m hurdles and missed representing the US in the 100m hurdles by placing 3rd at US Nationals. Her winning time at US Nationals of 56.67 was the 2nd fastest time in the world by a Junior for 2015.  We prepared for all the rounds she will have to handle at Nationals and Jr. Pan American and it paid off. She took gold in the 400m hurdles.

Jampel's Summer 2015 - End of Middle School

Jampel had a very successful 2015, having completed his first full year of track and field. He placed 2nd in both the 200m hurdles and the 100m hurdles at the Powerade State games. He won the 100m hurdles and the 200m hurdles in the USATF NC Association. Jampel later followed that up with a 3rd place finish in the 200m hurdles and a 5th place finish in the 100m hurdles. He improved from 28.53 to 25.44 in the 200m hurdles, from 26.21 to 24.05 in the 200m. 

2015 Year in Review

The season saw the team growing to 14 athletes. Jampel Francisco, Anthony Garuba, Carlton Alexander made it to the USATF South Regional Championships in Virginia. Jampel Francisco and Anthony Garuba made it to the USATF Junior Olympics in Florida and Jampel Francisco earned USATF Junior Olympics All American in the 100m hurdles and the 200m hurdles.

On the female side, I'cess Young made it to the USATF South Regional championships, Anna Cockrell won the USA Outdoor Championships in the 400m hurdles and placed 3rd in the 100m hurdles.  She later went on compete for the US where she won the Jr. Pan American games in the 400m hurdles.

Jampel Francisco was our only competitor in this meet and he placed 3rd in the 13-14 age group 200m in a time of 24.70 seconds.
